Lovely day out for a nice can of Chili. I’m a big chili fan, so I’ve been looking forward to this day for a good while now. I decided to go up to the roof to watch the Blue Angels as I’m a huge fan of the United States military. I ditched the cups after using them in the microwave and threw everything back in the can.

I tried to get a good picture with the industrialized birds, however I couldn’t get anything good in my short lunch, so you’ll have to work with what I got.

As you can see, I barely got this picture with two of them in the distance. Getting into the chili of things, this had a nice bold cumin flavor to it, accompanied by a little bit of an acidic sour finish from either the tomatoes or the vinegar, but it worked brilliantly here. When I had my first couple bites, I noticed a strange aftertaste I couldn’t really explain, however I quickly got over this and found the chili to be lovely.

The corn, beans, peppers, and chicken all had a nice variety of texture, with the corn having a might crunch to it that I thoroughly enjoyed. The chicken breast was shredded, so I did get a couple pieces stuck between my teeth. I didn’t really mind that though.

It had a nice spiciness to it, although I probably would add more with some hot sauce if I were to eat this again, old man likes it hot! The seasoning and spices were phenomenal, although you are getting an insane amount of sodium, so there’s that. Didn’t taste too salty, mostly just enjoyed it.

I had a really nice little time eating outside on the roof, and the food was a great companion up there with me. It wasn’t too oily either, felt nice to go through this can. I left the roof feeling quite full and jolly.

I know this is supposed to be my review, but here’s a comment I found by Little0ne:

“I was pleasantly surprised by how flavorful the Hormel Chipotle chicken was! I immediately added it to my cilantro lime rice and it was a huge hit for family dinner. It has a spicy kick to it but even my 2 year old even enjoyed it and kept asking for more.”

Overall I think this can is going to be a big hit with chili enjoyers, it’s a bit salty, has lots of protein, and just tastes wonderful. I also prefer eating chicken so that’s a plus.

I will have to give it a 95/100.

Which kind of hot sauce would you say pairs the best?

In my lifetime of eating chili, I would say that tapatio is probably the best pick for any chili.
